EXAMINATION OF BULK SOIL FOR DATABLE CHARCOAL FROM THE TEMBLOR RANGE, CALIFORNIA

Two bulk soil samples from the Temblor Range in south-central California were floated to recover charcoal and other organic fragments suitable for radiocarbon dating. Radiocarbon dating will be used for timing of earthquake events along the Cholame segment of the San Andreas fault.
