This repository provides super-resolved water masks and associated processing code supporting the study “Urbanization-Driven Simplification of Deltaic Channel Networks: The Hidden Loss of Small Channels” The dataset is designed to facilitate the analysis of long-term morphological changes in deltaic channel networks, with a particular focus on the evolution and disappearance of small channels.The water masks were generated for the Dongjiang and Dnieper deltas based on satellite imagery and subsequently enhanced using a super-resolution approach to improve the representation of small channels. The resulting high-resolution water masks enable more reliable extraction and characterization of deltaic channel networks across multiple spatial scales.The repository also includes the scripts used for water mask post-processing and channel network analysis. These scripts allow users to reproduce the processing workflow and to adapt the methods for similar deltaic environments or other river-dominated coastal systems.This dataset and code can be used for studies on deltaic geomorphology, channel network dynamics, and human-induced morphological changes. Users should note that the water masks represent surface water extent at the time of image acquisition and may be influenced by seasonal hydrological conditions and data availability.
