The invention relates to a connection element (1) comprising a first part (2) made of a first wood material having a first adhesive surface (4) and a second part (3) having a second adhesive surface (7)， wherein the first part (2) and the second part (3) are adhesively bonded together at the first adhesive surface (4) and the second adhesive surface (7)， wherein the first adhesive surface (4) and/or the second adhesive surface (7) comprises corrugations (5) of elongate， preferably substantially parallel grooves (8). The invention further relates to a formwork support (10)， wherein a first flange element (12) is formed by a connection element (1)， to a method for producing a connection element (1)， and to a method for producing a formwork support (10).
