Klebsiella pneumoniae subsp. pneumoniae Adaptive Evolution to Colistin Selection

Experimental evolution of Klebsiella pneumoniae strain ATCC 43816 was performed under colistin selection to study the influence of mutation timing on the development of colistin resistance. This study follows the progression of colistin resistance with increased selection in both planktonic and biofilm populations and relays the timing of affected gene functions and key colistin resistance mutations to better understand the pathway of resistance generation in K. pneumoniae.
