This dataset contains fine-root traits and associated soil properties collected from pure and mixed plantations on the Loess Plateau, China. The study includes monocultures of Robinia pseudoacacia, Populus simonii, and Hippophae rhamnoides, as well as mixed plantations of R. pseudoacacia with P. simonii or H. rhamnoides under different mixing ratios. Fine-root biomass and morphological traits were measured across multiple soil depth intervals to capture spatial variation in belowground structure. Corresponding soil variables, including soil organic carbon, total nitrogen, soil water content, and soil bulk density, were measured at the same sampling locations. The dataset supports analyses of species-specific root strategies, root–soil interactions, and scale-dependent patterns of belowground complementarity in arid and semi-arid plantation ecosystems.

本数据集采集自中国黄土高原的纯林与混交人工林,包含细根功能性状及配套土壤属性数据。本研究涵盖刺槐(Robinia pseudoacacia)、小叶杨(Populus simonii)和沙棘(Hippophae rhamnoides)的单作人工林,以及刺槐与小叶杨、刺槐与沙棘的不同混交比例人工林。研究团队针对多个土壤深度分层测定了细根生物量与形态性状,以捕捉地下结构的空间变异特征;并在相同采样点位同步测定了配套土壤指标,包括土壤有机碳、全氮、土壤含水量及土壤容重。本数据集可支撑干旱半干旱人工林生态系统中物种特异性根系策略、根土互作关系以及地下资源互补性的尺度依赖模式等相关分析。
