To investigate whether gut flora is associated with the vitamin A nutritional levels in children with persistent diarrhea, 60 fecal samples from 60 pediatric patients with persistent diarrhea were selected and divided into vitamin A deficiency (VAD) (n=30) and vitamin A normal (VAN) (n=30) two groups, Illumina MiSeq pyrosequencing analysis and bioinformatic statistical approach demonstrated that the diversity of gut flora and key pholytypes are significantly different in children with persistent diarrhea at the different VA nutritional levels
