High Quality Genome of Phyllium Philippinicum (Philippine Leaf Insect) Leg DNA Sample

High-quality genome assembly of an adult female Phyllium philippinicum (Philippine Leaf Insect). DNA was extracted from the leg in late 2024. Sequencing was performed using PacBio HiFi reads (~55× coverage). The genome was assembled to contig level with HiFiasm v0.24.0 and underwent three rounds of duplicate purging using the purge_dups pipeline. The final assembly spans 3,113,195,867 bp across 172 contigs, with an N50 of 31.1 Mb and a GC content of ~40.39%. BUSCO analysis (insecta_odb10) identified the assembly as 98.6% complete (single-copy: 98.0%, duplicated: 0.6%), 0.7% fragmented, and 0.7% missing genes. The assembly has a Merqury QV of 73.4 (estimated base error rate: 4.5 × 10?8).
