Treponema pallidum pertenue sequencing from Ugandan red colobus (Piliocolobus tephrosceles)

This project involved sequencing of skin lesions from two Ugandan red colobus monkeys collected during two outbreaks of yaws in 2015 and 2017. The sequences were generated using in-solution hybridization capture with biotinylated RNA baits. The study goal was to understand the distribution and diversity of this bacterium in East African nonhuman primates.
