Hydrographic data from Northern Norwegian fjords - 1966

The periodic collection of hydrophysical data along the northern Norwegian coast (from Malangen to Porsangerfjord) started in the beginning of the 20th century and some of the oldest stations are still in operation by the “Havmiljødata” sampling programme organized by UIT-The Arctic university of Norway. Systematical retrieval of the physical oceanographical data during shorter periods (1–2 years) in Tromsø and north Norway goes back to ca. 1872 when Tromsø Museum was founded. The first decades sampling was performed with hired vessels, and retrieval of hydrophysical data was connected to sampling of marine organisms. From ca. 1975 it was taken over by the University of Tromsø and from 1979 it was up running again with a new revised network. Up through the years much effort has also been put into data quality control and instrumentation (CTD) mantenance and calibration. From the early 1990s, the BFE faculty (Fakultet for biovitenskap, fiskeri og økonomi) that has had the responsibility for the data sampling organized as Havmiljødata (HMD).挪威北部沿海（马拉根湾至波尔桑厄峡湾海域）的海水物理数据定期采集工作始于20世纪初，其中部分历史最悠久的观测站至今仍在挪威北极大学（UIT-The Arctic University of Norway）组织的“Havmiljødata”采样计划中正常运行。早在1872年特罗姆瑟博物馆成立前后，特罗姆瑟及挪威北部地区就曾在1至2年的较短周期内开展系统的海洋物理数据获取工作。最初数十年的采样工作均通过租用船舶完成，海水物理数据采集与海洋生物样本采集同步开展。约1975年，该采集工作由特罗姆瑟大学接管；1979年，经修订优化的全新观测网络重新启动运行。多年来，项目团队还在数据质量控制、仪器（CTD，电导-温度-深度仪）维护与校准方面投入了大量精力。自20世纪90年代初起，负责数据采样工作的BFE学院（生物科学、渔业与经济学院，原文为Fakultet for biovitenskap, fiskeri og økonomi）将相关工作整合为“Havmiljødata（HMD）”项目。
