Benthic Biodiversity in the Southern Irish Sea 2: South-West Irish Sea Survey (SWISS)

The South-West Irish Sea Survey (SWISS) was initiated in 1996 as a collaborative venture between Irish and Welsh scientists under the European Union INTERREG II programme. Its primary aims were to evaluate the biodiversity of the south-western Irish Sea/Celtic Sea area, chart the Benthic invertebrate assemblages, identify areas of importance for future more applied studies, compare selected sites over time, and examine the relative performance of differing sampling techniques.
