Dysregulation of energy metabolism is linked to AD, and Glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists show neuroprotective potential, though their mechanisms remain unclear.We found that GLP-1RAs activate AMPK in microglia, suppressing neuroinflammation and promoting phagocytosis. These effects inhibit neuritic plaque formation and improve memory deficits in AD model mice, highlighting GLP-1RAs as a promising therapeutic strategy for AD.
