Migration chain: IND EU Documents Request

The ‘Reportation of Aliens Chain’ can be downloaded from the site www.rijksoverheid.nl EU citizens who are not yet free on the Dutch labour market (EU document not required) can apply for an EU document. Third-country national family members of EU citizens (EU document required) must apply for an EU document. It is not an application for admission but an application for proof of the right of residence on the basis of the free movement of persons. The document shows the conditions under which work may be carried out in the Netherlands (access to the labour market). The figures on the EU documents do not provide an insight into the total number of EU citizens residing in the Netherlands because the application for an EU document is voluntary for them. When interpreting the data, there are a number of aspects that need to be taken into account. — All numbers are rounded to dozens. Numbers less than 5 are not shown. — Because the numbers are rounded to dozens, the addition of detail numbers may lead to deviations from, for example, the annual total. In the case of detailed rules with nationalities, the derogation may be significant. For this reason, the main totals are included in the file. — Each line in the file contains at least a column ‘Total of’ and a number. The ‘Total of’ column shows the content of the number. For example, the line with ‘Year’ in the ‘Total of’ column indicates the annual total. The rows with ‘Year, Month’ in the ‘Total of’ column indicate the total number for each year and month. — Always use only one ‘total’ per item to avoid double counting. — The numbers mentioned in the ‘Reportation of Aliens Chain’ serve as a reference framework The file is published monthly and contains data for the current year. New files may include corrections for previous months. File for previous years remains available and will no longer be updated.
