Effect of disinfection method on biofilm bacterial community in domestic hot water system

Eight commonly used disinfection methods were applied to control the biofilm contamination in domestic hot water system (DHWS). The bacterial inactivation efficiency, response of different bacterial taxa (high-, mid- and low-abundant) to disinfection, and interactions within and across the three sub-communities, as well as potential pathogens were systematically investigated.
