资源简介:
In our institute, one of the active researches is studying tropical cyclone wind speed observed from the satellite altimeter and scatterometer. Wind speed is one of the vital information to describe tropical cyclone intensity and strength. Several studies have shown that both satellites can measure sea surface wind speed in normal atmospheric condition with great accuracy. However, in tropical cyclone where complex ocean-atmospheric interactions existed, the estimated accuracy is reduced. Apart from the principal parameter used to estimate wind speed, we conduct several experiments to investigate the importance of incorporating few simultaneously observed parameters to improve estimated wind speed accuracy. For this, geophysical parameters from Jason-2 and Jason-3 satellite altimeter crossing 349 tropical cyclone globally between the year 2015 to 2018 were extracted and their corresponding match-up wind speed from scatterometer ASCAT (MetOp-A and MetOp-B) were found. These data (as attached below) used to produce papers that currently under reviewing process.
