Ernst Steinitz: Open Works Corpus in German and English

Ernst Steinitz (1871–1928) This evolving open corpus presents source-witnessed modern reading editions of Steinitz's mathematical works. The record is organized for readers: cumulative volumes and every currently available individual work are exposed as top-level PDFs, while source and quality-assurance ZIPs remain secondary archival material. German_*.pdf and English_*.pdf: the same 26 work readers available separately, without ZIP extraction. Works represented The present reader surface includes works on configurations (1894, 1897), modules and continuity (1899), Abelian groups (1901), polyhedra (1905, 1906), field theory (1910), rectangular systems and modules (1911, 1912), and the three-part series on conditionally convergent series and convex systems (1913, 1914, 1916). Coverage The German volume contains 315 work-reader pages plus its catalogue and dividers. The English volume contains 265 work-reader pages plus its catalogue and dividers. The 1916 conclusion, Bedingt konvergente Reihen und konvexe Systeme. (Schluß.), is complete in German for printed pages 1–52; its current English edition covers printed pages 1–13. The machine-readable work matrix distinguishes available, partial, missing, excluded, and source-unresolved units rather than presenting the current selection as Steinitz's complete bibliography. Editorial basis These are modern, source-witnessed working editions rather than critical editions or peer-reviewed mathematical certifications. The cumulative volumes passed page-map, bookmark, extracted-text, page-count, and all-page render review. Direct source replay of the 1916 German conclusion also established and repaired 20 concrete defects in the earlier pages 1–13; the immutable predecessor records preserve the publication history. Languages and future versions This version publishes the current German and English reading layers. A standalone Simplified Chinese corpus is not included in this version; it is a required future layer and will be published only as substantive translations pass formula, terminology, source-pixel, build, and visual checks. Future versions will also add the identified German and English gaps. Archives and continuity The PDF files are the primary reading surface. Retained ZIP files preserve editable sources, authorities, and evidence. This record continues active concept DOI 10.5281/zenodo.20616988.
