Chirp seismic-reflection data of field activity 2014-645-FA; Santa Cruz Basin offshore Santa Barbara, southern California from 2014-11-12 to 2014-11-25

This data release contains high-resolution seismic-reflection data collected in 2014 to explore to explore marine geologic hazards offshore of southern California. Specific targets include the San Clemente, Catalina, and Catalina Ridge faults in the Catalina Basin, and a submarine landslide complex observed in multibeam bathymetry images in the Santa Cruz Basin. The survey took place in the Santa Cruz and Catalina Basins offshore of Ventura, California. The data were collected aboard the Scripps Institution of Oceanography R/V Robert Gordon Sproul. The seismic-reflection data were acquired using a hull-mounted Knudsen 320B echosounder. Subbottom acoustic penetration spans up to several tens of meters, and is variable by location. This data release contains processed digital SEG-Y.
