Vegetation/Ecosystem Modeling and Analysis Project (VEMAP) Elevation and Grid cell area

The VEMAP Reference Geography Dataset contains the following variables: elevation, area, and percent land area for each VEMAP grid-cell. Elevation is the mean grid cell elevation (.5 deg x .5 deg) in meters, and area is in km^2 and percent of area that is land within the VEMAP study area. Data provided by the Vegetation/Ecosystem Mapping and Analysis Project (VEMAP) at the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) are gridded monthly time series climate data for the Conterminous United States at 0.5 x 0.5 degree spatial resolution.
