Digital Archive from an Archaeological Excavation from Church Farm, Whatfield, Suffolk, June to November 2015

This collection consists of images, databases and a vector graphic from an archaeological excavation by Suffolk Archaeology. Work occurred was carried out on land to the west of Church Farm, Naughton Road, Whatfield, Suffolk, in advance of the construction of a small housing estate, from June to November 2015.The excavation revealed a series of features interpreted as pits, postholes and gullies associated with a single house plot located on the edge of the village of Whatfield. A number of post-holes and other slots are also present which are probably related to alterations and repairs to this structure. Pottery recovered from the features suggests the site was relatively short lived with occupation being limited to the 11th century only.
