资源简介:
The purpose of this study was to elucidate mechanisms that mediate global effects of an omega 3 long chain polyunsaturated fatty acid (eicosapentaenoic acid, EPA) on gene expression in brown adipose tissue from high fat fed mice.We used RNA sequencing to determine the effects of EPA on transcriptomic and gene networks in brown adipose tissue from C56BL/6J mice. Two groups of mice were fed either high fat diets (45% kcal from fat) or high fat diets supplemented with EPA (@ 36 g/kg EPA ethyl ester; details in Kalupahana et al., J. Nutr. 2010; Lemieux et al., J. Nutr. 2015; and Pahlavani et al., J. Nutr. Biochem. 2016). EPA reduced white adipose tissue inflammation and prevented high fat diet induced obesity and other metabolic dysfunctions. Further, expression of several markers of thermogenesis was increased in brown adipose tissue
