The layer contains priority watersheds for all focal species across the Midwest region (legacy Region 3). These have been determined for each USFWS Fish and Wildlife Conservation Office using criteria established at the Office level. Priority species include Brook Trout, Lake Sturgeon, Topeka Shiner, Niangua Darter, Arctic Grayling, Imperiled Fluvial Mussels and more. <div><br /></div><div><span style='font-family:"Avenir Next W01", "Avenir Next W00", "Avenir Next", Avenir, "Helvetica Neue", sans-serif; font-size:16px;'>The layer was created as part of a larger mapping effort to display priority species watersheds across the larger Great Lakes area. </span><br /></div>
