Finding Aid, Coal River Basin Channel Rehabilitation Study 1974

This collection is referred to as "Coal River Basin Channel Rehabilitation Study 1974.” This name is consistent throughout the finding aid, the file folders, and the box labels. The extent of this collection is a quarter (0.25) of a linear inch. The documents were originally housed in an acidic folder within an acid-free box and were in good condition. The documents were originally housed in reverse chronological order, and were reorganized by chronological order. Metal contaminants and folds were found throughout the documents. Various staples were removed from the documents using a microspatula. The staple holes and any wrinkles or creases in the documents were smoothed using a bone tool. The documents were slightly discolored due to aging. The maps were originally folded and were flattened using an iron. A minor tear on the edge of one of the maps was mended with acid-free mending tissue tape. The collection consists of four pieces of correspondence, dating from June 1974 to December 1974. One of the letters (scanned asset 2069-0001) included four oversized maps showing project details and site locations. A note at the bottom of the letter reads: “4 Incl / Maps as.” Each of the four maps is labeled with corresponding “Incl” numbers one to four. The four correspondence documents, including the oversized maps, were assigned to the Administrative Records folder (1/1). The oversized maps were removed to oversized storage, scanned, and assigned separate scanned asset numbers for tracking purposes. Copies of the maps were printed on acid-free paper and inserted into the original location within the correspondence.本馆藏被命名为‘1974年煤河盆地河道修复研究（Coal River Basin Channel Rehabilitation Study 1974）’，该命名在馆藏指南（finding aid）、文件盒标签与箱盒标签中全程保持统一。本馆藏的规模为0.25线性英寸（即四分之一线性英寸）。 这批文献最初收纳于无酸箱内的酸性文件夹中，整体保存状态良好。其原排序采用倒时间顺序，后被重新按时间正序整理。文献表面普遍存在金属污染物与折痕，工作人员使用微铲移除了文献上的各类订书钉，并使用骨制修复工具抚平钉孔、褶皱与折痕。文献因年代久远出现轻微褪色。原折叠的地图经熨斗压平，其中一张地图的边缘存在一处微小撕裂，已使用无酸薄页修复胶带（mending tissue tape）进行补缀。 本馆藏包含4份1974年6月至12月的往来信函。其中一封信件（扫描资产编号2069-0001）附带4张超大幅地图，标注了项目细节与场地位置。该信件底部附有手写备注：‘4 Incl / Maps as.’，4张地图分别以‘Incl 1’至‘Incl 4’的编号进行标注。4份往来信函（含附带的超大幅地图）原被归入行政记录文件夹（1/1），后续超大幅地图被转移至超大规格存储柜，经扫描后分配了独立的扫描资产编号以方便追踪管理。复刻版地图印制于无酸纸上，并放回原信函中的对应位置。
