<P>Abstract copyright UK Data Service and data collection copyright owner.</P><br>To collect a wide range of classification and attitudinal data about people in relation to their jobs and careers. The sample is drawn from the readership of <i>The Guardian</i> and is therefore heavily biased towards people in managerial, professional, administrative and clerical occupations. The sample is self-selected, but this disadvantage is counter-balanced by its size (11,389 respondents) and the anonymity it confers on respondents.<br><B>Main Topics</B>:<BR><br>Attitudinal/Behavioural Questions<br>
Changing jobs: method, reason for leaving, time spent looking, mobility, recruitment advertising.<br>
Attitudes: job satisfaction, immediate superior, the organisation, career, attributes of success.<br>
Background Variables<br>
Classification: sex, age, marital status, number of children, county, educational qualifications.<br>
The job: type of industry, area of work, size of establishment, responsibiltity for staff, salary and benefits, brief career history.
