Geothermal heat projects centroides

The map relates exclusively to the territory of the province of Zuid-Holland. Geothermal heat is mainly used for space heating. The potential for renewable energy in South Holland has led to a large number of licence applications for the detection and extraction of geothermal energy under the Mining Act for which the government is competent. On 1 January 2014, 6 geothermal heat projects were realised in Zuid-Holland. With the delivery of heat through a local heat network, a geothermal heat project can be used optimally. Geothermal heat is also known as geothermal energy.
