Background: Fungal ball (FB) rhinosinusitis is the main type of non-invasive fungal rhinosinusitis. Despite positive direct examination (DE) of biopsy samples, culture remains negative in more than 60% of cases. The aim was to evaluate the performances/efficacy of targeted metagenomics (TM) to describe and analyze bacterial and fungal microbiota in fungal balls and find possible microbial associations
