资源简介:
This repository contains offset measurements on strike-slip faults from recent and historical earthquakes measured by hand and with image correlation. The data in this repository were compiled from published studies (see Table 1 and Table 2 for references) and represent 63 global earthquakes. Some of the original data were available in tabular format, but many of the datasets were transcribed from tables or graphs in PDFs. Thus, minor errors may exist resulting from data transcription.   These data are used in: Reitman, N.G., Mueller, K.J. & Tucker,G.E. (2022) Surface slip variability on strike-slip faults. Earth Surface Processes and Landforms, 47(4), 908–935. https://doi.org/10.1002/esp.5294    Description of Data: single_eq_data.zip contains a pickle file for each dataset. Each file contains offset (m), distance along the fault or fault section (km), offset minimum (m), offset maximum (m), and offset uncertainty (m), if the values were available from the original publications. Naming convention is AuthorDate-Fault or Earthquake.pkl   singleEQs_notsubset_withSheetName.csv is a file that contains the metadata for each dataset that is presented in Tables 1 and 2. It is included to make the data files easier to ingest in codes.   single_eqs.ipynb is a computational notebook that reads and plots each dataset. It requires Numpy, Matplotlib, and Pandas, and has been tested in Python 3.11.5.   Reitman2021_Table1.xlsx and Reitman2021_Table2.xlsx are the tables included in the original publication.   Email nadine.reitman@colorado.edu or nreitman@usgs.gov with questions.
