Adaptation at an expanding range edge in Aricia agestis

Brown Argus (Aricia agestis) has expanded their range northward in the UK over the last 25 years. The expansion is coupled with a change in host plant species, with generalist populations at the core of the range utilising Cistaceae, while the majority of newly colonised sites are specialised on Geraniaceae. We use experimental and genomic approaches to understand the evolutionary processes underpinning the range expansion and host plant shift.
