Dataset for: Binge-Watching and Gender-Specific Effects on Academic, Social, and Mental Well-being in Children and Adolescents

The dataset supports research titled “Binge-Watching and Gender-Specific Effects on Academic, Social, and Mental Well-being in Children and Adolescents.” The survey collected anonymous data from primary and secondary school students through a cross-sectional research design. The dataset contains variables which measure watching behavior alongside social support, educational self-efficacy, mental health indicators, and demographic characteristics, including gender. The research team obtained informed consent from all participants, who included students and their parents. The research study did not involve clinical trials and did not collect any identifiable data from participants. The study procedures were carried out in accordance with the Declaration of Helsinki. Ethical approval was obtained from the Survey and Behavioral Ethics Committee of the corresponding author’s university (SBRE-21-0731).
