This project investigates soil bacterial community dynamics during root-knot nematode infection under the influence of Pleurotus spent mushroom substrate (SMS) amendment. Soil samples were collected from treatments including sterilized soil, live soil, and live soil amended with SMS, with and without nematode infection. High-throughput sequencing of the 16S rRNA gene was performed to evaluate changes in bacterial community composition and structure. The study aims to elucidate how SMS application influences soil microbial communities and their potential role in suppressing root-knot nematode infection.
