PacBio HiFi and ONT sequencing for draft assembly of Solanum demissum (WKS30238)

This study reports sequencing data generated to support the draft genome assembly of Solanum demissum (Gross Lusewitz Potato Collections, IPK; accession WKS30238). High-quality long-read sequencing was performed using PacBio HiFi, complemented by ultra-long Oxford Nanopore Technology (ONT) reads (>50 kb) data to improve contiguity and scaffolding. The assembly was produced using hifiasm v0.19.6-r595 with default parameters and a phasing mode of --n-hap 6, resulting in a collapsed genome size of approximately 2.2 Gb and 5,108 unitigs. This genome resource was generated as part of a study examining the transmission and distribution of introgressed haplotypes from wild Solanum relatives into European potato germplasm.
