ABSTRACT This paper presents notes on the intervention actions of a first degree in Physical Education from a Public University of the state of Rio Grande do Sul / Brazil and its relation with the process of teacher identification in the perception of its students. Participated in the research, academics at the conclusion of the course, through discussions in a focus group. From the information collected, two categories of analysis emerged: facilitators and barriers in the process of teacher identification. From the findings of the research it can be concluded that this process is a reflection of the individuality of the subject, of participation in formative actions provided in the course of his initial formation and of his life experiences from the interpersonal relationships that motivate them to follow in the chosen profession. Therefore, the importance and necessity of evaluations and continuous reflections on the knowledge provided throughout the formative trajectory in the university to the encounter with the school.
