Microscopic validation used a modified FEA-SD (Formalin ethyl-acetate sedimentation) technique applied to 20 randomly selected samples. The total weight used for the modified FEA-SD is shown in column 2. Column 3 shows the remaining volume of re-suspended sediment after processing by the modified FEA-SD. Column 4 shows the calculated EPG using the modified FEA-SD.
