Attitudes towards Norwegian development cooperation 2010, shows that support for Norwegian development assistance maintains an important status among the Norwegian population. As many as 87 percent of the population is positive for development aid. Similar surveys of public attitudes to development assistance has been completed in 1972, 1974, 1977, 1980, 1983, 1986, 1990, 1993, 1995, 1999, 2001 and 2006. The surveys are conducted by Statistics Norway on behalf of the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (NORAD). In 2010, the survey is conducted as a separate part of the Travel and Holiday Survey, 4th quarter.
Topics in the survey includes:
- Attitudes to the aid given to various parts of the world.
- Attitudes to the size of the aid that is given.
- Judgements on how effective the aid is.
- Attitudes to various forms of aid.
- Familiarity with development organizations
- Perceptions of how aid works in practice.
