Dune grass traits and dune morphometrics for 3 years after planting

Monoculture dune grasses were planted on Hog Island, VA for 3 species: Ammophila breviligulata, Spartina patens, and Uniola paniculata (n=5). In 2021 the planting occurred in May, and the dunes were measured the following August. These data were collected each August starting in 2021 and continuing through 2023. All plots were measured for stem density, cover, lateral expansion, and height of each species. Sand accretion was measured using snow poles on the corners of the plots. Dune morphometrics (i.e., alongshore distance, cross-shore distance, area, and perimeter) were calculated using Digital Elevation Models (DEMs) from annual drone imagery of the island.
