Canberra population survey, March 1979

In this omnibus survey topics investigated topics were: occurrence of disabilities in the A.C.T. population, opinions on the A.C.T. self-government referendum, control of bushflies by the use of insect repellents and by a proposed CSIRO scheme, Australian political leaders, the Australian economic situation, schools and education in Canberra and unemployment. Respondents were also asked about their use of part-time interest-type educational courses, their use of drugs (including alcohol and tobacco) and their preferences in the timing of local football matches. Background variables were age, sex, marital status, birthplace, and residence in Australia for the workforce data and educational level and income for the individual data.
