PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide treated wood in which an impregnation region of wood is difficult to expand outward， and to provide a treating method of the wood. SOLUTION: A treated wood B0 comprises wood 2 and a plurality of recesses 5 formed in a treated region 4 of the wood 2. The wood 2 comprises an impregnation region 30 impregnated with an impregnation material 3 from a surface 20. The plurality of recesses 5 include first recesses 51 formed in outer edge regions 41 of the treated region 4， and second recesses 52 formed in an inner side region 42 of the treated region 4. Then， the first recesses 51 and second recesses 52 each are formed in such a manner that a penetration degree of the impregnation material 3 to the wood 2 via the first recess 51 and a penetration degree of the impregnation material 3 to the wood 2 via the second recess 52 are different from each other.
