Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) leads to a high risk of significant morbidity for both the mother and offspring with complications. Increasing evidences suggest that gut microbiota plays a role in the pathogenesis of GDM. However, it is still unclear that whether gut microbiota is related to the blood biochemical traits especially the GLP-1 in GDM patients. Thus, we sequenced the V4 regions of 16S ribosomal ribonucleic acid (rRNA) gene from fecal samples of 35 pregnant women with GDM and were compared to the results from 25 pregnant women with normal glucose tolerance(NGT).
