SOUND VELOCITY and Other Data from USS STUMP DD-978) from 19940101 to 19940131 (NCEI Accession 9400027)

The sound velocity data in this accession were collected from USS STUMP DD-978 in January 1994 by US Navy. The sound velocity in water is analog profiles data that was recorded in stripcharts. Radio logs are forms that contain time, weather latitude/longitude, vessel id, ship id, etc. These are radioed every two hours to some military center. One line per strip chart. Some strip charts have time/date/ship id/latitude/longitude annotated on the strip chart. Fifty nine stripcharts and radio logs were submitted to NODC by the US Navy, San Diego, CA.本批次收录的声速数据由美国海军（US Navy）于1994年1月从DD-978号斯达姆普号驱逐舰（USS STUMP DD-978）采集得到。水体声速为记录于长条记录纸（stripcharts）上的模拟剖面数据。无线电日志（radio logs）为包含时间、气象参数、纬度/经度、舰艇编号、船舶标识等内容的表单。此类日志每两小时便会通过无线电传输至某军事中心。每张长条记录纸对应一条数据记录。部分长条记录纸会在纸面标注时间、日期、船舶标识、纬度及经度信息。来自美国加利福尼亚州圣迭戈的美国海军向国家海洋与数据中心（NODC）提交了总计59份长条记录纸与无线电日志。
