Major Accidents

The database contains data on major accidents in Sweden from 1950 onwards. “Major accidents” means accidents in which at least four people have died, at least 10 people have been injured or where the consequences have otherwise been assessed to be particularly significant. This work included reviews of yearbooks, newspaper articles, reports from various commissions, other reports related to the field. Some tasks have also been supplemented after contact with the municipalities where accidents occurred. The data has since been supplemented annually. The database is no longer updated.
