Data batch direct download service (WFS): Natural Areas of Environmental Interest Faunistic and Floristic in Saint-Pierre and Miquelon

A ZNIEFF is defined by the scientific identification of a sector of the national territory (land, river or sea) of particular ecological interest. All of these sectors thus constitute an inventory of exceptional or representative natural areas. Type I areas, areas with a generally limited area, are characterised by the presence of rare, remarkable species, associations of species or habitats, or characteristics of the national or regional natural heritage. These areas are particularly sensitive to even limited equipment or transformations. Type II areas are large natural settlements (forestry, valley, plateau, estuary...) rich and unmodified, or which offer significant biological potential. In these areas, it is important to respect the broad ecological balances, taking into account, inter alia, the vital domain of sedentary or migratory wildlife.
