The taxonomic composition of oral microbiome enables early diagnosis of patients in risk of periodontitis development.

In this study the 454 pyrosequencing of 16S rDNA was used to evaluate the changes in the oral microbiom composition of each tested individual in mid-time horizon for both the patients with chronic periodontitis and healthy controls.The taxonomic characterisation of oral microbioms was based on the sequencing of 16S rDNA amplicons. Amplicons containing V4–V6 region of bacterial 16S rDNA were amplified by PCR using eubacterial primers eub530f/ eub1101r.
