Genistein improves glucose metabolism through modulating gut microbiota

Genistein was severally gavaged to normal control diet fed lean mice and high-fat diet induced obesity mice for 10 weeks. Antibiotics were administered in the sterile drinking water ad libitum to deplete gut microbiota. The cecal contents were collected for 16s rRNA sequencing. The present study is designed to evaluate whether gut microbiota is indispensable for genistein in meliorating glucose metabolism.
