SA stimulated the response of Isatis indigotica hairy roots to SA, regulated the gene expression of components of the SA signalling pathway, disrupted the hormone metabolism pathway in the hairy roots of Isatis indigotica, led to changes in the expression of genes related to plant hormone synthesis and secondary substance metabolism in the hairy roots of Isatis indigotica, regulated the expression levels of plant hormones and the synthesis of secondary substances, reduced the abiotic stress resistance of hairy roots of Isatis indigotica, induced protein ubiquitination and autophagy, and promoted the senescence of hairy roots of Isatis indigotica.
