European cement and iron & steel plants production data
收藏资源简介:
Synthetic fuels based on renewable energies are necessary for the future decarbonized energy supply. To produce synthetic fuels, stable carbon sources that are also available in a renewable energy system in the long term are required. One of the potential stable carbon sources is the CO2 emitted from the industry sector. As two major CO2 emission industries, the cement, and iron & steel industries have a huge potential in synthetic fuels production. With the purpose of understanding the geographic distribution and the potential of these stable carbon sources, this dataset provides the geographic location (EPSG:4326 - WGS84) of the cement and iron & steel plants in the European extend and the annual production (million tonne). For the cement industry, the data is derived from industryabout.com. For the iron and steel industry, the data is collected from various sources including the indurstyabout.com, the United States Geological Survey (USGS), companies' official websites, companies' annual reports as well as media reports.
