The Effects of Complement in a Chronic Murine Model of Inflammatory Erosive Arthritis and Pulmonary Vascular Disease

Dysfunction of the complement pathway contributes to diseases such rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and pulmonary hypertension (PH). Here we aim to determine whether complement deficiency has a protective effect on joint and lung disease using the tumor necrosis factor-transgenic (TNF-Tg) mouse model with constitutive human TNF-? expression characterized by spontaneous onset of inflammatory-erosive arthritis and PH.
