The scientific content of this proposal was already accepted in AO20 as anHeritage program.We request here to re-observe the pointings which were heavily affected bybackground flares therefore hindering the value of this heritage dataset.Covering the central 16x2 square degrees of the Milky Way disc with 20 ks XMMexposures is allowing us to constrain the flows of hot baryons emerging from theenergetic activity in the inner disc of the Milky Way to detail their impact onthe surroundings and to connect tens-to-hundreds of parsec scale features withthe base of the Galactic-scale outflow.Ultimately this study has the potential to provide us with an excellent archetype for advancing our understanding of galaxy evolution theory in a Milky-Way-class galaxy.
