WAU010 - Wauyai Maˈya - Conversational questionnaires (Dialogues B 'Preparing for the new year', D 'A family album', F 'Lifting stones')

This dataset contains dialogues elicited using the Conversational Questionnaire method (François 2019, 'A proposal for conversational questionnaires') from the Wauyai dialect of Maˈya with Pilipus Gimla (born 1955), a native speaker of Wauyai Maˈya. The dialogues were Dialogue B ('Preparing for new year', pages 45-47 of the Fieldnotes), Dialogue D ('A family album', pages 51-53 of the fieldnotes), and Dialogue F ('Lifting stones', page 55 of the fieldnotes). The recording of this session is split across two audio files, WAU010-01 and WAU010-02. The session was recorded on 20 February 2023, in Waimalata hamlet (Waigeo island, Raja Ampat regency, Southwest Papua province, Indonesia). This dataset relates to the British Academy Postdoctoral Fellowship 'Synchronic and diachronic investigations in Raja Ampat-South Halmahera, a little-known subbranch of Austronesian'.
