This is a digital reproduction of an image held at the Library of Congress. <br>The photograph shows a man wearing a tarbush looking through the iron door of the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem. The tarbush is a close-fitting, flat-topped, brimless hat shaped like a truncated cone made of felt and a silk tassel which was popular during the Ottoman period. This is a cropped version of the original image at the Library of Congress.<br>This image exists as part of the Nativity Church collection within the Library of Congress project of the Planet Bethlehem Archive.
