This dataset comprises statistical analysis data generated from sampling surveys on the population quantity of rice planthoppers in national rice pest and disease monitoring plots. The data focuses on the number of rice planthoppers per hundred rice hills in the target area, which is used to assess the occurrence status of rice planthoppers in the region, fulfilling the purpose of pest and disease prediction and early warning. Specifically, sampling surveys on rice planthopper quantities are conducted in national rice pest and disease monitoring plots. Typically, 6 plots are selected for each survey. For each individual plot, 5 sampling points are set up, with 2 rice hills investigated at each point. The total number of collected planthoppers in the plot is tallied. Then, the planthopper quantity per hundred rice hills of the plot is calculated via the formula: (Total planthoppers collected in the plot / Total number of investigated rice hills) × 100. The final total planthopper quantity per hundred rice hills of the entire monitoring area is calculated as the average of the planthopper quantities per hundred rice hills across all surveyed plots, that is, ∑(Planthopper quantity per hundred hills of each plot) / Number of surveyed plots.
