This data was used to quantify how a high-density agrivoltaic array in a hot semi-arid environment influences carbon assimilation, water use, and yield in zucchini (<i>Cucurbita pepo</i>). Photosynthesis data was collected using li6400s infra-red gas analyzers. Data was extracted manually from the original li6400 data output file into a new .xlsx Excel file. Microclimate measurements were recorded at 30-minute intervals throughout a 24-hour day.We show that while shading under high-density solar array can enhance midday photosynthesis and cumulative carbon uptake, it also shifts carbon allocation toward vegetative growth at the expense of fruit yield. This mechanistic understanding provides novel insight into the trade-offs and design considerations necessary for optimizing agrivoltaic systems in drought-prone region.<br><br><br><i>For inquiries regarding the contents of this dataset, please contact the Corresponding Author listed in the README.txt file.
