资源简介:
The first GANOVEX Expedition (German Antarctic North Victoria Land Expedition) was carried out aboard the M.V. Schepelsturm, a large ocean going anchor and cable handling tug. Field activities were based on field camps or helicopter transport in much of the east and north of North Victoria Land. Field camps were put in on Football Saddle (Tucker Glacier), Robertson Bay (Murray Glacier; Cape Klovstad, west side of Adare Peninsula), Mt Mulach (Posey Rangy, Lillie Glacier), McKenzie Nunatak, Reilly Ridge, Frolov Ridge, Mt Soza, Littel Rocks and the Swanson Glacier (Daniels Range). Helicopter traverses with landings for sampling (especially granites and their contact metamorphic aureoles) included Murray Glacier, Robertson Bay to Cape Moore and Yule Bay, Missen Ridge and ANARE Mountains, the Everett and Mirabito Ranges, the eastern Bowers Mountains east of Leap Year Glacier between Black and Greveson Glaciers, Sleders Glacier, Lanterman Range, Morozumi Range, Schroeder Spur and nunataks on the Rennick Glacier. A short time was spent in the Wright Valley also. There were eight scientists on the expedition with different areas of study. The work was at a reconnaissance level or carried out in some detail. Geological mapping was conducted at 1:250,000 of the granitoid/Robertson Bay sedimentary rock distributions in the Anare Mountains, along Dennistoun Glacier, Missen Ridge and Lillie Glacier and at 1:100,000 of the Morozumi Range - Littel Rocks.
